Living Room Interior Design
The decoration of the family room should focus on comfort and the enjoyment of the family. Chances are the room is designed around an entertainment centre where you watch movies and listen to music. The furnishings for the room should be comfortable and able to accommodate your family and guests. When you are relaxing with friends and family in the room, you want to be able to sit back and enjoy your time.
Lighting is very important in a family room that doubles as your home theatre. There should be layers of lighting created in the room so that you can dim certain segments of the room while still having the ability to turn the lights up bright when needed. Make sure that the lighting is not distracting to the viewing of movies and television by preventing the lights from reflecting from the screens. You should also consider some safety lighting for times when the lights are turned down low or completely off. Lighting near to the floors helps prevent falls when someone tries to make their way through the darkened room.

Children's room interior design
Designing and decorating living space for children can be a very fun and exciting part of home Interior design. It's easy to let your imagination go because children are very creative and imaginative on their own. That's also why it's a good idea to include children in the planning stages of your design as they can often come up with great ideas on their own that you would never think of.
Probably one of the best places to start on designing a theme for a child's room is to start with their own favorite activity or interest. Of course, as children grow up their interests often change dramatically, so try to decorate in such a way that the accessories can be changed as a child gets older and gets more interested in other activities. But usually, children will get very excited if they know that their room will be decorated to reflect their favorite interests. Just be sure to go over it carefully with them in advance to get their input on what they really like. That way your Interior design will be sure to be a hit.
When designing and decorating for children, one of the advantages is that you can often choose color schemes and combinations that you do not often use in adult surroundings. In fact, you can often go much brighter and bolder with colors that you select for children. You can also arrange the room in a different way then you would normally with most adult rooms. For instance, a chalkboard or toy box may be the centerpiece of a child's room, and this would be far more appropriate than making a seating arrangement the focal point instead.

Interior Design 2010
The interior design world is a very fast paced environment for most people in the industry. Keeping up with the latest trends are usually imperative to staying successful in the design world. Many people say that the year 2010 will encompass many colors that involve a connection with earthly, organic tones. They say that the inspiration from the fashion world usually flows into interior design around a year after they come out. In 2009, "going green" burst into the fashion scene and thus, bringing earthly tones to the interior design world in 2010.
Some of the colors that have been brought into this industry in 2010 are beiges, browns, and greens. Striving for an eco-friendly, naturally processed dye, these colors bring out many neutral earthy colors. Mixing these tones with vibrant global tones can also compliment each other very well. Colors like purples, yellows, and blue's work well with this.
Green is known to be a very calming color both physically and emotionally. The use of this color in interior design can lead to a great peaceful environment. Colors such as yellow are proven to be more stimulating and vibrant. Mixing greens with accents of yellow also goes well together bringing a unique blend to a room.
